TO ALL CATTLE & SHEEP EXHIBITORS

We fully appreciate the difficulties and uncertainties that have been created by Blue Tongue but it is our intention to hold a Show with the full range of classes. To enable us to assess the level of support for these classes we are asking you, our potential exhibitors to answer one question –

Is it your intention to exhibit at our Show this year?

We appreciate that the situation is very fluid and that the midge will probably not behave according to DEFRA’s predictions but if the vaccine is available at the right time and if your holding and the Showground were in compatible zones, would you be showing this year?  It would be greatly appreciated if you could let us have the answer preferably by e.mail at your earliest convenience.

Our plan for dealing with Livestock entries – We would ask you to please submit your entries in the usual way and by the closing date. We will enter these onto our system in readiness but we will not bank your cheque. On Thursday 24th. July we will contact everyone who has submitted entries, preferably by e.mail or telephone, to ask for your decision, so that early the following week we can;

  1. assess the level of entries;
  2. dispatch tickets and numbers;
  3. bank or return cheques as appropriate.

As most of you will be aware, our Cattle Committee Chairman, Mr Trevor Trim, tragically died very suddenly last autumn. We are very pleased to report that his wife Julia has very kindly agreed to continue in her role as Vice Chairman of the Cattle section, with Mr Mike Rose as chairman.

Thank you very much for reading this note.

Could you please now email or telephone us with an answer to the question.

We are very grateful for your continued support and wish you a successful and midge free season.
